Fun with Triptychs!

I chose the triptych above because I felt its message was the most clear; during Hurricane Katrina the people of New Orleans were displaced to Houston while the city was flooded. The first image is of the traffic during the evacuation with the New Orleans skyline in the back. In the second image the skyline of Houston is shown to establish where the people in the first picture are headed. The final image is of flooded downtown New Orleans after the storm. The background is an image of a stormy sky and a country road emphasizing traveling and weather. This triptych uses continuation with the direction of the roads to help the message flow. In our culture we read from left to right, so the triptych shows people leaving, where they went, and what the final outcome was.

Peeling crawfish makes your hands dirty.

We reach for the ones leaving us but eventually move on.

Why I Chose this Theme

I chose this theme because it is clean and clear. It allows a large image for the header that helps garner attention. I plan to post photographs that I have taken and continue to take in New Orleans with the white backdrop acting as a sort of matte board. The layout is also non-threatening and easy to maneuver.
